Commemorative Stamps: Billelis
For this project, I was tasked to look into a figure or event revolving around graphic design. I chose Billelis because of his 3D works that were on album covers. His work mixes classical with dark subject matter which is striking and beautiful to look at. His work is also on book covers and he did collaborations with Xbox and Nike.
For the image of these stamps, I wanted to look at the elements Billelis has in his works. He finds inspiration in the human anatomy, medieval and renaissance art, crests of armor, shields, religious art with a classic look, and Japanese tattoos. My focus would lean towards the flowers, skull, fine lines, and textures.
