Imperfect Exhibition
I was tasked to make an exhibition space revolving around my topic of birth defects. For this exhibition, we follow questions along both sides of the wall prospective parents will ask each other when they want to start a family. We will then follow them with their daughter who was born with a birth defect. This will lead to the section “What about the next generation?“ This section will explain if the daughter’s birth defect will be passed on to her offspring. This section explains the importance of genetic testing and looking into genetic history for potential birth defects that may be passed on to the baby.
The exhibition’s storyline follows a family with their child who is born with a birth defect. Then the audience follows intersecting lines into the information of the next generation, genetic history, and testing.
Visual Language
The visual language is shapes and lines to evoke a friendly nature. In this manner, the topic of the exhibition will not seem to be overwhelming to the audience. For the color palette, the aim was to have a calming effect.
