Birth Defects Interactive Webpage

This project was an expansion on the infographics of comparing two different cities. My topic was on birth defects between Bogotá, Colombia, and Corpus Christi, Texas. I chose this topic because I was affected by a birth defect: clubfoot. The objective was to construct an interactive prototype of our infographic. For this project, I wanted to go through the questions a person or potential parents may ask themselves about birth defects and their baby.

Here is the overall layout of the screens and the order. I wanted the navigation to be simple and follow a story from start to end. This is also the reason why I made the user go through all sections and end at the beginning.

Questions

I was forming these questions out of my personal experience to know what I can do with my birth defect and future baby.

In total there are five questions in the interactive webpage.

  1. What is a birth defect?

Introductory to the subject with the definition of birth defects

  2. How many babies are born with birth defects?

Multiple-choice answer to fill in the sentence so the user can participate and learn how many babies are affected by birth defects

  3. What gender is commonly affected?

Responsive baby blocks that show information on each gender on how they develop and the likelihood of being born with a birth defect

  4. Are birth defects preventable?

Information is given from CDC stating that birth defects can be minimized

  5. How can one minimize the chances of birth defects?

Three different sections to help out future mother

Testimonials

In this section, I wanted to implement stories of families who have a child born with a birth defect. In there I also wanted to highlight their concerns when they saw their child and how they are doing now.
